Senior Engineer supporting requirements definition, analysis, and tracking; software/system design, development, integration, testing, security, documentation, and training development/execution. Work with Lead Engineer to ensure all project goals and objectives are met within scope, time, and budget. Identify, manage, and resolve all risks associated with the project. Collect, analyze, and report all aspects of project performance as required.



  • Ten years formal programming experience.
  • Experience with a formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and configuration management tools.
  • Experience developing in an Oracle Solaris 10/11 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x environment.
  • UNIX system, network administration and shell scripting experience also required.
  • Experience developing software to format, generate, transform, parse, and process XML based data.
  • All personnel must adhere to the DOD Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program requirements, DOD 8570.01-M, and must possess a Security+ certification prior to reporting on-board. 
  • General understanding of DIACAP, DCID 6/3, ICD-503, and/or NIST Risk Management Framework
  • In depth understanding of hidden data threats associated with complex and proprietary file types such as MS Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; and Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).
  • Extensive experience in system/software design, development, integration, testing, system administration, O&M.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and understanding of the DoD, IC, and national level system security initiatives and Secure Information, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and a thorough understanding of Cross Domain
  • Solutions (CDSs) technologies used throughout the IC and DoD.
  • Experience implementing and executing software and security engineering practices in the System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Process.
  • Exemplary proactive results-oriented interpersonal and customer relations expertise and team building.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Java, C, C++, and Perl formal programming experience.
  • Developing RHEL preferred.
  • Experience in OpenOffice or LibreOffice integration or development.
  • A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP).

Required Security Clearance: Top Secret SCI
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 8 to 10 years
Must possess a Security+ certification


Education & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance. Masters Degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of Security Engineering experience.
