Overview

  • Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems
  • Provides the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance
  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis, and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations 
  • Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities and programming techniques and controls 
  • Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems and performs system capacity analysis and planning 
  • Maintains servers, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensures functionality of system links
  • Monitors systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establishes back-ups, and Amendment 01 Page 115 of 130 monitors systems security
  • Supervises technical staff; develops and coordinates project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organization
  • Performs multiple tasks concurrently and responds to emergency situation effectively

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated systems administration experience administering user accounts; performing server subsystem configuration, network management, installation of software, backups, configuration management, and general system maintenance; and providing input to the design of the organizations systems and mission architecture
  • Linux administration expertise for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1 (RHEL 7.1), system operations, patching, updates, scripting, and performance tuning
  • Nagios and automated configuration service and system performance and health monitoring
  • Deep familiarly with STIGs and applying STIGs to RHEL 7.1, Java, Tomcat, and PostgreSQL software and services
  • AWS Cloud Environment (EC2)
  • VMWare/Virtualization/Docker
  • SSL, PKI, and TLS
  • Role based Security/Enterprise Authentication/Authorization
  • Services
  • IP Tables
  • Familiarity with DISA DECC
  • Application and data backup and recovery
  • System backup/restore procedures
  • System security practices
  • System tuning
  • User administration
  • Software and hardware installation and maintenance
  • File management and system troubleshooting
  • Operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix/Solaris, LINUX) and storage filers (e.g., NetApp, Isolon)

Qualifications

  • Required: Active TS/SCI with Poly Clearance
  • Minimum six years of system administrator experience
  • Minimum of High School Diploma
  • Minimum DOD 8140/DOD 8570 IAT Level I Certification
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communications skills
